I think the very best thing you can do for your wedding is to make it exactly how you want. Of course there are always budget considerations, but within your means, make it true to you! I’ve witnessed a few weddings that didn’t seem to “match” the couples’ personalities but this wedding matched perfectly.
I met Jess and Nelson seven years before their wedding and at the time didn’t even know they were dating. We used to work together and they were both in leadership positions and extremely professional. Once I learned they were together it was a “yes! this absolutely makes sense” — they’re perfect for each other! You can’t help but root for them like you would Jim and Pam (any other The Office fans?) They were both mentors to many and always kind, beyond helpful, and always kept the mood positive, uplifting, and fun. They’re the kind of people you just want to win. In everything they do, you just wish them the best. Because they deserve it. Truly!
They opted for a first look right on the Asbury Park boardwalk. It was an exceptionally windy day which made it quite cold, especially being so close to the Ocean, but it was still a perfect day.
After the first look and formal photos, we headed over to Porta Asbury Park just a couple of blocks away from the boardwalk. They have a separate room for private events with direct access to the outdoor patio, making intimate gatherings extra special. Pizza was served (I could cry of happiness. I *love* pizza at weddings lol) and their guests danced the afternoon away. They ended with a sparkler exit right outside the patio with friend and family wishing them well.
Happy two year anniversary to two of the most genuine, kind souls I’ve ever met. To many more years of love and happiness!
